San Antonio-based insurance and diversified financial services company, SWBC, has added Joan Cleveland to its executive team as CEO of SWBC Life Insurance Co.
Prior to joining SWBC, Cleveland worked for eight years at Prudential Financial as senior vice president, business development, individual life insurance. She is a frequent industry speaker and is active in multiple industry committees within the Association of Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU) and LIMRA, as well as a member of the board of directors of the American Bankers Insurance Association where she also co-chairs the Government Relations Committee.
Cleveland holds licenses for Life, Accident, and Health with appointments throughout all 50 states and FINRA Series 6, 7, 24, 63, and 65. She holds the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC), and Certified Long-Term Care Professional (LTCP) designations. She is also certified in the Six Sigma process improvement methodology.
