Louisiana Couple Arrested for Possessing $165K in Stolen Vehicles

March 29, 2013

Louisiana State Police announced that insurance fraud detectives have arrested a Lake Charles couple for charges relating to possession of stolen vehicles worth an estimated $165,000.

In October 2011, detectives received information about suspected stolen property from a LoJack asset tracking system. The information led detectives to the residence of 49-year-old Katherine Larocca and 51-year-old Ronnie Larocca both of Lake Charles.

A search of the property and residence led to the recovery of an assortment of stolen vehicles, farm equipment and trailers, the LSP said. The recovered property had been reported stolen to authorities in Texas and Louisiana.

The U. S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Louisiana previously had secured an indictment for both Ronnie and Katherine Larocca.

The indictment charged the couple with one count each of criminal conspiracy and three counts each of sale or receipt of a stolen vehicle.

Additional arrests are expected and this case remains under investigation, the LSP said.
