Baylor University Honors The Nitsche Group with Community Commitment Award

Independent insurance agency, The Nitsche Group, based in Giddings, Texas, has been presented the 2017 Community Commitment Award by Baylor University’s Institute for Family Business.

This distinction is awarded by Baylor University to a successful family business that demonstrates a commitment to improving their community and shows an ongoing interest to the well-being of the community.

The Community Commitment Award is part of the Family Business of the Year Award Program, which recognizes outstanding multi-generational, family-owned companies from across the state of Texas whose families demonstrate a commitment to each other, to their employees, to business continuity, and to community.

Since 1949, The Nitsche Group has highly held the belief that success is defined by how well the agency contributes to the success of others. The agency has a long history of community involvement; from helping families through difficult circumstances, to keeping local businesses in operation, to supporting organizations like the March of Dimes, beach clean ups, and local food pantries.

“In our family, running a business is about far more than making money,” CEO Robert Nitsche said in the company’s announcement. “It’s about maintaining a culture that cares about people. It’s about giving back to a community that has given us so much. It’s about doing what we think is right, even if it’s not reflected in the bottom line.”
