Texas Seeks Comments on Windstorm Insurer Rules, Classification for Oil, Gas

The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) seeks comments on an informal draft to improve the structure of Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) rules. These updates do not include revisions to the rule text.

Oil and Gas Field Classifications

TDI is also seeking comments on National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) proposed changes to classifications for oil, gas field operations.

The NCCI filed amendments to Item B-1438—Revisions to Basic Manual Classifications for Oil and Gas Field Operations based on comments received during the initial comment period. Item B-1438 proposes to revise some class code descriptions for the oil and gas industry to include flowback services and drill site preparation.

NCCI proposes that Item B-1438 apply to policies effective on and after July 1, 2021.
