Three contract workers suffered burns while working on transport operations at the ExxonMobil XOM.N facility in Beaumont, Texas, KDFM and other media reported late on Thursday.
The KDFM report cited a statement from ExxonMobil, which said the contract workers were receiving treatment, and that a comprehensive investigation had been initiated.
“We’re told the EMS units went to CHRISTUS St Elizabeth Hospital,” the KDFM report stated.
Additional details about the cause of the incident, the severity of the burns, and the conditions of the injured workers were not immediately available, according to the local media reports.
Exxon did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
Exxon Beaumont operates a petrochemical manufacturing complex, which consists of a refinery, chemical plant, polyethylene plant and lubricant blending and packaging plant, according to the company’s website.
