A series of three one-day seminars on commercial marine insurance have been scheduled in April, May and September by LIG Educational & Consulting Services, a sister-company of LIG Marine Managers in St. Petersburg, Fla. According to a LIG spokesperson, with the ever-changing marine marketplace, these seminars are timely and dynamic. Students taking the courses will qualify for six continuing education credits in Florida and several other southeastern states. The course schedules are:
April 20, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.: Six hours, three CE credits in Florida.
Navigating Waterfront Exposures: Examines and discusses exposures and coverages that relate to marina operators, boat dealers and repairers; marine contractors, boat manufacturers and builders; commercial vessels, charter boats, sightseeing boats, and casino boats. (Three credit hours)
Advanced Marine Workers Compensation: A course for individuals who already have a good working knowledge of long-shore and maritime exposures and builds upon that foundation. Topics include building a case for situs and status, seaman status, mega-yacht owners, commercial divers and critical employer-employee issues. (3 hrs CE)

May 25, Biloxi, Miss.: Six hours CE credits in Florida, Alabama and Mississippi. Marine Contractors Workshop: This course provides a wealth of information on a variety of topics including: CGL, protection and indemnity, forms comparison, inclusion/exclusion of crew, equipment, dock and pier coverages and limitations, CCC issues with ship repairers, wharfingers, terminal operators and stevedores and legal liability. Included are discussions about long-shore and maritime exposures.

Sept. 19, Tampa, Fla.: Six hours CE credits in Florida.
