Florida voters go to the polls today in the primary election in which insurance has been a major issue, looking to select their parties’ candidates for the November elections.
The statewide offices up for grabs are Governor, Chief Financial Officer and Attorney General.
Running in the Republican primary to succeed Jeb Bush as Governor are Attorney General Charlie Crist and Chief Financial Officer Tom Gallagher, as well as Vernon Palmer and Michael St. Jean.
For state CFO, Republicans will chose from Milt Bauguess, a businessman; Randy Johsnon, state representative; and Tom Lee, state Senate president.
In the Democratic primary for Governor, Congressman Jim Davis and State Senator Rod Smith are vying with Glenn Burkett, Carol Castagnero and John Crotty.
The Democrats also have a primary race for Attorney General between State Senator Walter Campbell and Merilee Ehrlich.
