Incoming mail service has resumed at the Alabama Department of Insurance, following a disruption due to a tornado that struck the main U.S. Postal Service facility in Montgomery on Nov. 15.
Department officials encourage those who may have mailed items to the department last week to inquire as to whether the item was received, and should remain prepared to mail the item again – or send via email – if it has been has been damaged, lost or destroyed.
The general email address for the department is insdept@insurance.alabama.gov. The toll-free telephone number is (800) 433-3966.
