The Offices of the Insurance Commissioner, in conjunction with the National Council on Compensation Insurance will hold a forum specifically designed to provide workers’ compensation carriers with the information needed to begin writing business in West Virginia.
West Virginia Insurance Commissioner, Jane L. Cline said the Sept. 5 event will focus on the opening of West Virginia’s workers’ compensation market.
“Exciting changes have occurred in West Virginia creating a new, open and competitive market beginning July 1, 2008,” Cline said. “We encourage worker’s compensation carriers to attend the forum to learn about the expanding opportunities that West Virginia’s open market will provide and what companies can do to participate.”
Participants will learn about changes in the market, NCCI’s role and what workers’ compensation carriers must do to take advantage of the open market date, according to Cline.
