I have never understood the idea of locking horses in a stucture where they are doomed to die in the event of a fire, because they can’t escape. It’s not much different that leaving elderly, bedridden person in a house without a care taker. Horses are meant to live in the outdoors; they should have the ability to come and go just in situations like this one. Providing them with shelter from the elements if fine, but locking them in to a certain death is criminal.
