Authorities say Alabama Marine Police arrested two people in connection with the theft of more than a dozen fishing boats along Mobile Bay.
Marine Police Lieutenant Alex Smith says thieves are stripping the 18- to 24-foot boats — stolen from residences in both Baldwin and Mobile counties — and selling the motors to local parts stores.
Authorities say five boats were stolen in Mobile County in the last two weeks and seven were stolen in Mobile in the last month.
Smith said brothers Patrick Leon Robinson, 23, and Clifton Deon Robinson, 27, both of Mobile, were arrested July 18.
