Federal disaster grants totaling more than $3 million have been approved to help businesses and residents slammed by storms and flooding in southern West Virginia last month.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency says the aid is primarily for temporary housing or repairs. Nearly 1,800 households have registered with FEMA for state and federal disaster assistance.
The Obama administration approved a disaster declaration for Logan, McDowell, Mingo and Wyoming counties after severe storms on June 12 caused flooding and mudslides.
