Wholesale broker Burns & Wilcox has purchased Kimbrell Insurance Group Inc., a wholesale broker and underwriting manager in South Carolina.
Kimbrell was founded in 1986 and is located in the Myrtle Beach, S.C. area. Burns & Wilcox acquired Kimbrell from First Financial Holdings Inc., headquartered in Charleston, S.C.
The purchase is the first Burns & Wilcox office in South Carolina and gives the broker a presence in all Southern states.
The H.W. Kaufman Financial Group is the parent company of Burns & Wilcox, an independent wholesale broker and underwriting manager with 37 offices across the United States and one in London.
The Kaufman Group includes Burns & Wilcox, Burns & Wilcox Brokerage, Burns & Wilcox Re, and R.B. Jones. It also encompasses London-based broker Coleman & Kaufman Limited; Royal Premium, a premium financing company; inspections, audits, and risk-management company US-Reports; and Minuteman Adjusters.
Burns & Wilcox is based in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
