Richard Kerr, founder and chief executive officer of MarketScout, the national electronic insurance exchange and specialty MGA, has been elected to the Risk Management and Insurance Executive Council of the Florida State University College of Business.
The Risk Management and Insurance Executive Council works with the Florida State University/Dr. William T. Hold risk management and insurance program offers superior content and quality while also providing students with a forum for networking with industry executives.

Kerr founded the insurance distribution and underwriting company MarketScout in 2000. The firm is a Lloyd’s coverholder and MGA for U.S. insurers. MarketScout owns and operates the MarketScout Exchange as well as over 40 other online and traditional underwriting and distribution venues. It is headquartered in Dallas.
Kerr is also the founder of the Entrepreneurial Insurance Alliance (EIA) and the Entrepreneurial Insurance Symposium (EIS), an annual conference that explores and promotes entrepreneurialism in the insurance industry. In 2012, he founded the Council for Insuring Private Clients (CIPC), an association serving those in the high net worth personal insurance space.
