Fire that Damaged Historic Georgia Courthouse Believed to be Arson

A fire that caused heavy damage to the historic courthouse in Macon County, Georgia, is being investigated as a case of arson.

WSFA reports that that the Macon County Sheriff’s Office believes the July 9 fire was deliberately set. Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating to find those responsible for the fire.

The fire was discovered in the early morning hours of July 9 and extinguished by Tuskegee firefighters.
