Palomar Specialty Insurance Company has partnered with Cabrillo Coastal General Insurance Agency, LLC to offer coastal homeowners insurance in Mississippi. Palomar Specialty is currently offering homeowners coverage through Cabrillo-appointed agents. Mississippi represents the second state in which Palomar Specialty offers homeowners insurance, with Texas being the first.
Palomar Specialty CEO Mac Armstrong said the expansion into Mississippi is part of the company’s goal to diversify into other catastrophe insurance categories outside of earthquake.
Palomar Specialty Insurance Company is a specialty insurer that focuses on catastrophe-exposed residential and commercial property lines of business. Palomar concentrates on catastrophe insurance products including residential and commercial earthquake, multi-peril homeowners, residential hurricane and commercial business written on an “all risks” basis in select hurricane exposed states. Based in La Jolla, California, the company is an admitted carrier in 23 states.
Cabrillo Coastal is the managing general agent for multiple insurance companies, offering protection along the Eastern seaboard and Gulf Coast.
