InsureScan, a company that says its software can help agents quote and bind auto coverage in a few minutes, has expanded to Alabama.
CEO Mark Chappell, who is based in Alabama, said that while some insurance companies are bypassing local agents, InsureScan lets agents use their smartphones to scan drivers’ licenses and vehicle numbers. Producer quotes and underwriting information is auto-filled in the app, the company said in a news release.
InsureScan also said it has entered into a general agency agreement with Buckle to support its insured gig drivers. The company is underwriting automobile insurance policies using Gateway Insurance, one of Buckle’s insurance carriers, as the admitted carrier.
The news release said that Chappell founded five MGAs, with 1400 independent agencies in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Virginia.
