W.R. Berkley Corp., the holding company for one of the largest commercial lines writers in the country, said it has made Jay Weber president of its Berkley Southeast Insurance Group. Weber succeeds Dennis Barger, who was named chairman.
Weber has more than 30 years in commercial property and casualty and was recently North American business development leader for a global insurance group, Berkley said in a statement. He holds a bacherlor’s degree from Syracuse University’s School of Management.
Berkley was founded in 1967. W. Robert Berkley Jr. is president and CEO.
CAC Specialty Names Governor Senior Account Exec
CAC Specialty named Karmanee Governor senior account executive, underscoring the broker’s plans to expand its healthcare division nationwide.
Governor, called a “dealmaker” by CAC’s president, has experience in all lines of insurance, including healthcare professionals’ liability and excess liability programs for health systems, senior living centers, surgery centers and physician groups.
Recently, she served as senior vice president for Willis Towers Watson, a consulting, risk analytics, brokerage and actuarial firm.
