Atlas Insurance has named Jared Hawkins and Michael Howard partners in the Sarasota-based agency.
Howard is a third-generation insurance agent at the firm and Hawkins is a second-generation agent who specializes in construction coverage, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported. Hawkins has been with Atlas since 2011.
In Tennessee, Assisstant Insurance Commissioner Gary Farley, who oversaw fire prevention, is retiring, the state Department of Commerce and Insurance Announced. Farley is a career firefighter who has served in the fire prevention role since 2018.
Farley managed the day-to-day operations of the Fire Prevention Division’s eight sections, including the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Tennessee Fire Service and Codes Enforcement Academy, Codes Enforcement, and the Tennessee Firefighting Commission.
He began his career with the Department in 2011 as Director of the Division’s Electrical, Residential, and Marina Inspections section.
