An Alabama woman was arrested after she was indicted by a grand jury, charged with multiple counts of insurance fraud.
Allison Dawn Benton Davis, 53, of Dothan, was charged with 11 counts of insurance fraud, according to local news reports. The woman also allegedly defrauded a local community college and other businesses, for a total amount of fraud of more than $77,000.
Further details about the nature of the actions and which insurance companies may have been affected were not available. The Alabama Department of Insurance and the Houston County Sheriff’s Office participated in the investigation.
