Johnson & Johnson, a managing general agency working in 48 states, has acquired Strickland General Agency in Suwanee, Georgia, J&J announced.
The deal closed July 31. Terms were not disclosed. Strickland, known as SGA, is a multi-line excess and surplus MGA serving independent agencies in most Southeastern states. Cliff Strickland Sr. is president.
Johnson & Johnson is a fourth-generation, family owned MGA that was founded in 1930. It also provides premium financing, private flood coverage and program business. Francis Johnson is chairman and CEO.
The merger will provide a broader portfolio of products and services to SGA clients, the companies said in a news release.
