Lake Mary, Florida-based Trident Reciprocal Exchange, launched in 2024, recently named Ryan Hodges chief executive officer.

Hodges has 25 years in the property and casualty insurance business and was previously vice president of commercial insurance for Bankers Insurance Group, which suspended personal lines writing in Florida in 2022. Hodges also worked as commercial underwriting manager for Citizens Property Insurance Corp., according to his Linkedin profile.
Maria Moller was previously CEO of Trident.
Trident, authorized for homeowners, commercial and other lines, is one of more than a dozen insurers or subsidiaries to enter the Florida market after historic legislative reforms in 2022 and 2023 aimed to tamp down excessive claims litigation, which had weighed heavily on many carriers’ loss adjustment expenses.
Florida’s insurance commissioner has said the entry of the firms shows that the reforms are having an impact, bringing new competition to the state.
