Irvine, Calif.-based HNC Software, a provider of software solutions for the financial, telecommunications, e-commerce and insurance industries, announced the release of three decision management products.
The products were designed to provide faster, more intelligent medical bill processing and to enable a new level of automation and electronic connectivity for the $291 billion property/casualty insurance industry.
Capstone™ Decision Manager for Medical Bills can be the hub of a medical bill processing system for insurance payors, and also enables existing legacy claim and medical bill review systems to automate transactions; route bills to appropriate specialists; capture additional savings; consistently apply rules; and enhance productivity and the quality of the bill review process.
CompAdvisor™ 3.2 is the latest version of the HNC’s medical bill review system for workers’ compensation. According to the company, it reduces cost by allowing medical providers to submit medical bills electronically from their offices in an industry standard format (ASC 837), thereby shortening the filing time and reducing errors.
AutoAdvisor™ 3.1 is a newly updated version of an integrated repricing system for auto medical injury claims. Now customers can compare medical provider charges against established guidelines; automatically reprice medical bills; catch duplicate billings; and identify potential over-utilization of medical services.
These goal of these products is to benefit insurance carriers by increasing efficiency since they process bills without human intervention. The systems can be added to existing legacy systems without the expense of replacing them.
