Following the lead of State Farm, Prudential Insurance will limit Arizona customers seeking new auto and homeowner’s coverage in order to maintain control of its policyholder base, according to The Tribune. Progressive went a step further saying it would cease selling homeowner policies in the state.
The state’s largest insurer, State Farm, reported it would limit new business for both home and auto policies due to the fact that growth in the state was getting ahead of the company’s ability to stay pace.
While vacating the homeowners’ market in Arizona, Progressive said it would continue to offer auto insurance in the state.
Progressive plans to offer renewals only through Feb. 28, 2003, at which time it will discontinue its homeowners’ business in the state.
