The American Insurance Association (AIA) announced the appointment of Jeanne Cain to the position of regional vice president, western region.
Cain will lead AIA’s western regional operations overseeing all state government affairs issues in the ten-state region covering Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington. She is based in AIA’s Sacramento office, and succeeds Mark Webb.
“Jeanne’s dynamic background advocating for both the public and private sector will strengthen and focus AIA’s government affairs efforts as we navigate the complicated issues facing today’s insurance marketplace,” said Alan Chapman, AIA senior vice president, state government affairs. “Her strategic thinking and proven track record will be a winning combination for AIA, and we are excited to have her on our team.”
Cain joins AIA with 26 years of government and legislative affairs experience. Most recently, Cain spent four years as vice president, government relations for the California Chamber of Commerce, serving as the chief legislative advocate and managing the Chamber’s advocacy and communications staff. Previously, Cain was California Governor Pete Wilson’s legislative secretary and deputy chief of staff. Cain gained experience in insurance issues as the deputy director for administration and fiscal integrity at the Major Risk Medical Insurance Board.
