Sierra Specialty Insurance Services Inc. of Fresno, California was incorporated in March of 2005 and officially opened for business earlier this month. Sierra Specialty was formed by several local insurance professionals from four different national wholesale brokerages.
“The best way to serve the Independent Retail Insurance professional,” Kathy Schroeder, president, pointed out, “is by being independent.”
A total of 21 wholesale brokers, underwriters and administrative assistants have joined together from a number of different national brokerages to form the largest independent wholesale insurance agency in the San Joaquin Valley.
Sierra Specialty has reportedly secured four A.M. Best “A” rated insurance company underwriting contracts and many wholesale contracts. Sierra Specialty underwrites small, not so typical commercial accounts, including Property, General Liability, Commercial Auto, Garage and Trucking. Brokerage includes nearly all other lines of business including Professional Liability, Oil and Gas and Products Liability.
Specialty niche insurance programs will reportedly be the next wave of products developed by Sierra Specialty.
