State Compensation Insurance Fund’s San Francisco District Office is hosting a free Office Ergonomics Workshop to help employers learn the benefits of “fitting the job to the worker rather than forcing the worker to fit the job.” The workshop will be held Oct. 18-19.
The workshop is part of a series of educational programs State Fund is holding throughout California to help employers create safe workplaces and inform them about new workers’ compensation regulations.
Featured speakers include ergonomic expert R.J. Banks, who earned a 2005 “Employee Safety Award” from Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, as well as Chris Shulenberger, director of economics for Clayton Group Services, a provider of occupational and safety services.
Workshop topics include: understanding and preventing work-related musculoskeletal disorders; applying ergonomic intervention strategies; and developing and customizing an office ergonomics training program.
Attendees will receive a free CD, “Ergonomics: How May We Help You?”
