Richard L. McCathron has been appointed CEO of Irvine, Calif.-based Superior Access. McCathron will be charged with directing the company’s initiatives to empower independent agents with insurance tools.
Previously, McCathron was with Mercury General Corp., where he began in 1993 as an underwriter in the company’s Westlake Village, Calif., office. He was instrumental in launching the company’s non-standard automobile insurance product, California Automobile Insurance Co., after which he was named assistant vice president. In April 2004 he was named vice president of Mercury General Corp. and senior vice president of American Mercury Insurance Group.
Superior Access is an online insurance distributor that provides independent insurance agents with insurance products from more than 65 carriers.
