Michael Heagerty, president and CEO of The Harry W. Gorst Co. based in Chatsworth, Calif., recently announced that Bryan Clark, senior vice president/underwriting, is the new chair for AAMGA’s Under Forty Organization (UFO). Clark’s appointment was made official at the AAMGA annual meeting in May 2007 at Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
Clark began his insurance career at The Harry W. Gorst Co. more than 10 years ago. As senior vice president/underwriter, he oversees a growing number of underwriters in offices throughout California.
The UFO affords young insurance professionals (under the age of 40), with an opportunity to network, learn and exchange ideas with one another. The UFO elects its own chair and vice chairs for the Board of Directors, holds an annual meeting in September of each year, sponsors a reception open to all attendees at the AAMGA’s annual meeting, conducts special education and leadership training sessions and through the auspices of Lloyd’s, London, Brokers and Company Market, organizes a trip for 15 to 20 of its members to travel to London each year to interact, develop relationships and learn from their counterparts in the United Kingdom.
