Something is rotten in the state of Washington, specifically Spokanistan. This guy filed two claims for the same loss, one in Idaho (State Farm) and one in Washington (Safeco).
The Exif data in the digital photos the deputy submitted contained dates prior to the effective date of his State Farm policy, and he withdrew the Safeco claim after they learned of the State Farm claim in Idaho and asked to meet him at the Washington property to survey the damage.
That’s correct. Jeske filed a claim for the same collapsed carport on two properties in two states with two insurers.
Neat trick, huh?
“The investigation showed Jeske filed a separate claim in April to Safeco Insurance for the collapsed carport. Safeco insured Jeske’s property in Davenport, Wash., which is where he reported the carport was located.”
“Later, Safeco found out from State Farm that the carport was located at the property in Idaho, which was not insured by Safeco.”
