Gov. Doug Ducey has appointed Leslie Hess as the interim director of the Arizona Department of Insurance.
Hess has worked in the insurance and financial services industries, in both the private and public sectors, for over 25 years.
Hess was with the Department of Insurance for 12 years as deputy receiver and legal advisor. She was with the Arizona Legislative Council for two years and worked for the Arizona Corporation Commission, Securities Division for over six years in legal counsel positions.
Early in her career, Hess worked for both Merrill Lynch and Bear Stearns in New York. Most recently, Hess served as the director of compliance and corporate secretary for Oxford Life Insurance Company and its subsidiaries.
