Calabasas, Calif.-based Topa Insurance Group announced that Jim Schallert, president of Dorchester Insurance Co., retired effective Dec. 31, 2017.
Theresa Fabela has assumed the role as president of Dorchester.
Fabela joined Dorchester in 2016 as vice president of Caribbean operations.
She has 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Dorchester, Fabela was assistant vice president at EWI Re Inc. She previously worked as a commercial account administrator for Parker, Smith & Feek. She was an underwriting supervisor at AAA before that.
Topa Insurance Group is a specialty insurance platform made up of core company Topa Insurance Co., as well as Topa Insurance Services and Dorchester.
