I guess that judge’s campaign funds have been greatly increased. One dollar each. That will buy each driver about one third of a gallon of gas.

If you read the article, the state takes 75% of any settlement. That leaves only $1.9M for the drivers or a little more than a dollar each. This is one time you cannot blame the judge or the attorneys, the law itself was the highway robber

Check the article again. Here in California, Democrats who want to win election take money from plaintiffs attorneys. When elected, those same Democrats revise the laws to feed the lawyers.

Look at the name of the act: the PRIVATE Attorney Generals Act. Now when did Attorney Generals become private?

When Democrats wanted to turn a regulatory action into litigation.
If you think the attorneys aren’t the ones feeding at the trough, think again. This is the way it is in California. Issues that would be regulatory nuisances at best in other states are huge lawsuits in California.

Google this video: Bike rider video of homeless in Orange County. Mind blowing “progress” when the middle class get chased out of California.

Another freebie handed to Uber. Who wouldn’t pay 7M to not be sued again for labor violations. Sweet Deal Uber
