Philip Massaro has joined small business intermediary BTIS as vice president of Underwriting.
Massaro has 25 years of commercial insurance underwriting and product management experience. Most recently, he was with GEICO as director of Auto and Excess for 20 western states, managing $12 billon in written premium and 40 product managers and analysts.
Earlier in his career, he spent 10 years with Progressive Insurance in commercial auto and various programs. Additionally, he has five years of experience managing Group Seven Enterprises, a managing general agency in the garage and finance and insurance space and five years with Great American Insurance managing product for commercial auto, businessowners, programs and finance and insurance products countrywide.

He was with AmTrust for seven years where he built the businessowners and umbrella/excess products and worked on acquisitions and integration of several commercial carriers and brokers.
His experience also includes positions at Bankers Insurance and Century Insurance.
He earned his MBA and served in the U.S. Army National Guard.
California-based BTIS is part of the Amynta Group, an insurance services company serving carriers, wholesalers, retail agencies, auto dealers, original equipment manufacturers, and consumer product retailers.
