The Western Insurance Agents Association and the Pacific Interstate Insurance Brokers have joined forces.
The board of directors of PIIB, based on El Dorado Hills, California, voted to affiliate all its agency-cluster partners with WIAA. As a result, WIAA now represents more than 600 independent insurance agencies.
“We are excited about our partnership with WIAA. The association is a highly regarded and tireless advocate for independent insurance agents and their clients,” said John Bradford, PIIB chairman.
Ken Lyon, WIAA chairman, called this a “very difficult time for insurance agents and their clients” with the disruption of the homeowners and commercial-property markets resulting from numerous catastrophes.
“Combined with an economy on the verge of a recession and less-than-friendly government agencies and Legislature, the need for a strong association fighting for agents and their clients is needed now more than ever,” Lyon said.
