Evan Daniels, a former Arizona insurance regulator, has joined Mitchell Sandler as counsel.
Daniels joins the Washington, D.C.-based company after leading the Arizona Department of Insurance & Financial Institutions, where he led the state’s regulatory agency that licenses and oversees banks, credit unions, mortgage lenders and all lines of insurance.
Before his appointment, Daniels was with the Arizona attorney general’s office. He led teams that investigated, litigated and advised on consumer protection, fair treatment, data privacy, government relations and public monies. Most notably, he was responsible for standing up and managing the Arizona Fintech Sandbox, a program designed to provide regulatory flexibility for fintech in Arizona.
