The California Insurance Wholesalers Association has created the CIWA Future Matt Abram Scholarship, established in memory of Matthew Abram.
The scholarship helps celebrate Abram’s legacy of energy, community, and connection by supporting rising professionals in the property/casualty insurance sector.
Scholarship recipients receive complimentary registration to CIWA’s 2026 Annual Meeting, Summer Forum, and Future Fall Event, with all travel expenses covered. They also get access to a dedicated CIWA Future mentor with monthly coaching sessions throughout 2026.
The scholarship is open to professionals working in the P/C insurance industry on the West Coast or are employed by a CIWA member company.
Candidates can apply by completing an application, which can be downloaded on the CIWA website, that includes:
- A short essay describing why they are a strong candidate, their professional goals and how attending CIWA events will benefit their career.
- Two professional references.
- Evidence of community and industry involvement.
The application deadline is November 14 by 5 p.m. PM Pacific Time. The recipient will be recognized during CIWA’s Annual Meeting in 2026.
