Deployment of Internet Strategy from Igneous Enables Greater Efficiencies Between NIA Brokers and Members

Sponsored Content September 22, 2003

The Igneous Group, Inc. (Igneous) and Nonprofits Insurance Alliance (NIA) Group of Companies announced today that they have successfully deployed the new NIA Web sites (www.niac.org and www.ani-rrg.org) that provide a complete e-business environment for brokers and members to conduct insurance business transactions. The new sites transform complex insurance procedures into simple business processes. As a result, NIA Group brokers can communicate critical information to members in real time and respond more quickly to member needs.

“Our goal for the site is to deliver services that go beyond customer satisfaction to create customer loyalty,” said Pamela Davis, CEO and President of the NIA Group. “To make it easy for members and brokers to do business with us, we knew we had to extend conventional business practices to the Web and differentiate ourselves through IT. The core functions of IT are available to most businesses, but the way IT is managed is not. We chose Igneous because they understand how Internet strategy can create value-added business products and services.”

“The NIA Group made a commitment to use technology strategically to cultivate business,” said Geoff Caras, CEO of Igneous. “We developed a technology roadmap that integrates internal insurance systems with brokers and policy holders – not just for today’s needs, but with a vision for future growth.” In close cooperation with the NIA Group, Igneous implemented an Internet strategy designed with touch points for all NIA Group communities. For unregistered visitors or prospects, the site provides information on NIA, its products and services, the nonprofit sector in general, and loss prevention.

Brokers have an integrated e-business environment that enables them to track claims and quotes, download policies, and process renewals. Members can view their policies online, and get the help they need to manage their insurance needs. NIA Group employees are able to update information on the site, process online applications and renewals, track leads, and get reports about site use and activity.

“We wanted a site that was easy to use, made efficient use of staff time, and could be managed by employees who are not technically savvy,” said Betty Johnson, Vice President of IT at the NIA Group. “Since site administration functions were designed for non-technical users, we’re now able to allocate our IT resources more effectively.”

Increased emphasis is being placed on IT as a competitive advantage. Strategic management of IT ensures that the selection, deployment, administration, operation, maintenance and evolution of IT assets are consistent with organizational goals. The integrated technology and consulting services provided by Igneous helped NIA align IT resources with business objectives to lead and innovate new ways of doing business.

NIA Group will be exhibiting at the INFOXCHANGE event held in Las Vegas, Nevada, Caesars Palace, Booth 213 on Monday and Tuesday, September 22 and 23, 2003. NIA Group and Igneous representatives will be available to discuss technology trends in the insurance industry, and to share their views on Internet strategy.
