Willis Asia Appoints Chan, Luah to Key Posts in Affinity Marketing, SME’s, HCB

Willis Group Holdings plc announced two senior appointments to lead its Asia regional operations in Affinity marketing and SMEs, and human capital and benefits (HCB).

David Chan is now Asia Head of Affinity and SMEs, and Cedric Luah is Asia Head of Human Capital and Benefits. Both have just taken up their new roles and are based in Singapore.

Adam Garrard, Asia Regional CEO of Willis, said: “These are vital additions to a growing team that is driving our strategic expansion all across Asia.” He explained that both men would “each formulate and deliver a pan-Asian strategy in their market space and focus on growth, client service and innovation. At a global level, Affinity and human capital and benefits are two compelling growth areas for Willis and these new leaders will be essential in leveraging that worldwide network.”

Chan is responsible for Affinity marketing, which focuses on partnerships and distribution agreements with retailers, employers and other organizations. He will also target the small medium-sized enterprise sector.”

He said he is “delighted to join Willis and work with our teams of specialists to develop market-leading Affinity and SME solutions across Asia. We will help our partners and clients implement tailored Affinity programs to improve their profitability, differentiate their offer and increase consumer loyalty, supported by innovative distribution and technology solutions.”

Chan joins Willis from JLT where he was the Managing Director of their Affinity and SME division for Asia. He has over twenty years’ professional insurance and leadership experience with both international and national insurers in Asia and Australia, with roles across marketing, underwriting and distribution.

Luah said he was also pleased to have joined Willis and indicated that he sees a “tremendous opportunity to develop an excellent Human Capital and Benefits Practice in this diverse and fast-growing region, while ensuring that we are connected globally. The key focus will bring true value to our clients, especially in an environment of demographic transformation, healthcare evolution, and social and regulatory policy change.”

Luah joins Willis from the AIA group office in Hong Kong, where he was the Director for Client Development responsible for multinational strategies, client relationships within the corporate clients segment, and the multinational pooling business. Prior to AIA, he spent seven years with Swiss Life, where he was the Head of Sales for Asia Pacific.
