Minn. Old Republic, Troon Management Corp. and Sentry

Rande Yeager, president and CEO of Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, headquartered in Minneapolis, Minn., announced the acquisition by Old Republic National Title Holding Company of Troon Management Corp. and Sentry Abstract Company.

Troon, based in Hatboro, Pa., is in the business of providing management, consulting services and the operation of joint venture affiliated business arrangements that offer title insurance.

Over the years, Troon advised title agents, lenders, builders and realtors on all facets of developing regulatory compliant affiliated business arrangements around the country.

Sentry Abstract Company, based in Reading, Pa., formed in 1975 as an independent title agency.

The Old Republic Title Insurance Group identifies itself as one of the nation’s largest title insurance groups, operating in 49 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico through a network of company-owned offices, subsidiaries, authorized agents and approved attorneys.

Chicago Fort Dearborn Life, Member Service Life

Fort Dearborn Life Ins. Company, a subsidiary of Health Care Service Corp. (HCSC), a Mutual Legal Reserve Company, recently announced its intent to merge with Oklahoma-based Member Service Life Insurance Company, also a subsidiary of HCSC.

Existing Member Service Life voluntary worksite products, including worksite life, short-term and long-term disability and accident insurance, will continue to be marketed in Oklahoma and Texas by Fort Dearborn Life. The transaction is anticipated to close on Oct.1, 2006, subject to regulatory approvals.

Fort Dearborn Life identifies itself as a leading provider of employee benefits. The company markets group life, short- and long-term disability, group dental and individual annuity programs.

BISYS, JCH Insurance Brokers

BISYS Commercial Insurance Services, a provider of commercial property and casualty insurance solutions, acquired JCH Environmental Insurance Brokers, the environmental practice of JCH Insurance Brokers, a New York-based commercial insurance operation.

The acquisition allows BISYS Commercial Insurance Services to expand its ability to provide risk management strategies to address environmental exposures inherent in all aspects of corporate America.

JCH has three locations in the U.S. with offices in Atlanta, Denver and New York. The environmental risk staff includes attorneys, geologists and engineers that bring high level of expertise to the management of environmental liabilities. JCH Environmental’s experience includes providing innovative risk management solutions to a wide range of businesses including contracting, manufacturing and real estate.

BISYS Commercial Insurance Services is an independent wholesale distributor of commercial property and casualty insurance, linking an extensive network of retail brokers and agents to products provided by over 100 Property and Casualty insurance carriers.
