EVEREST NATIONAL INSURANCE ANNOUNCES CALIF. WORKERS’ COMP PROGRAM:

January 3, 2005

Everest National Insurance Company announced it has been writing California workers’ compensation business on a direct retail business since October 2003 from its Western Regional Office in Orange, Calif. During its first year the office focused on accounts greater than $250,000 for a very limited retail agency plant. As the operation has matured and its premium base has become a significant share of Everest National’s California writings, the Western Regional Office has recently expanded its agency plant while reducing the premium eligibility threshold to as low as $20,000. A key component of Everest National’s California market presence is its relationships with specialized program administrators. Everest National has enjoyed a long-term relationship with Landscape Contractors Insurance Services, which exclusively markets Everest National’s workers’ comp and commercial products and services for members of the California Landscape Contractors Association. Everest National also provides workers’ comp and commercial products and services to security firms, sprinkler/alarm installation contractors and related industries through All Risks, Ltd. The company expects to continue to expand its market presence for premier markets with unique industry, association or distribution characteristics. Additionally, they will continue without interruption to provide a meaningful presence with broad class eligibility in the California workers’ comp market through established and highly professional Program Administrators. The company announced that the following program administrators are writing California workers’ compensation business on behalf of Everest National: Santa Rosa, Calif.-based Northwest Insurance Agency; Grass Valley, Calif.-based Networked Insurance Agents; Hunt Valley, Md.-based All Risks, Ltd.; Sarasota, Fla.-based Risk Services, LLC; and Santa Ana, Calif.-based KRM Risk Management Services Inc.
