American International Group Inc. named Nicholas J. Ashooh as senior vice president of communications. Ashooh succeeds John T. Wooster Jr. who had filled that role on a temporary basis since year-end 2005, and earlier had been AIG vice president of communications.

Ashooh will report directly to AIG President and Chief Executive Officer Martin J. Sullivan. His new responsibilities will include corporate and employee communications, publications, advertising and global branding, media and public relations, marketing communications and the AIG archives. He will also manage the communications activities of AIG domestic and overseas subsidiaries.

Most recently, Ashooh was vice president for corporate communications at American Electric Power in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to that, he was at Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. in Syracuse, N.Y.

Insurance brokerage and risk management consulting firm Beecher Carlson in Atlanta has promoted Janet Warren to managing director and national claims leader. In this role, Warren will be responsible for the management and delivery of claims consulting services.

Warren is a 20-year insurance industry veteran. She originally joined Beecher Carlson in March 2005 as senior vice president for claims. Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, Warren was with Willis of Georgia.

Beecher Carlson also expanded its Nashville, Tenn., office and appointed Clayton Washburn as producer. Washburn has 18 years of experience specializing in energy, construction and waste management. He will leverage his vertical market expertise and focus on the development and production of accounts in the energy and construction industries throughout the southeast region.

Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, he was director of sales and marketing for Porter-Walker, a distributor of construction and industrial supplies, where he managed strategic account sales.

ReSource Pro has named Dan Epstein as chief executive officer. Epstein, formerly vice president of business development, takes over from David Watkins, who will become chairman.

ReSource Pro LLC, based in New York City, is a remote staffing firm that specializes in back office insurance processing for insurance program managers, managing general agents and retail agents. Before joining ReSource Pro in 2005, Epstein was president and executive director of US-IBEX, which facilitated business partnerships between foreign technology companies and U.S businesses.

Along with Epstein, the senior management team at ReSource Pro is comprised of Matt Bruno, managing director of China operations and Laura Downey, director of client integration.

Barry Wolf has joined the Atlanta office of William Gallagher Associates as vice president in aviation. He brings 14 years of experience as an aviation insurance broker. He comes to WGA most recently from Palmer & Cay in Atlanta.

Bermuda-based Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. announced that Mark Boucher, chief executive officer of its London-based subsidiary, Endurance Worldwide Insurance Limited, has decided to retire from Endurance effective Jan. 7, 2007. Daniel M. Izard, president and CEO of Endurance’s Bermuda operating subsidiary, will act as interim CEO of Endurance Worldwide until a successor is named.

Brian L. Ferrell joined The Hartford Financial Services Group as assistant vice president and assistant general counsel in its compliance group on Sept. 1. Ferrell will serve as the company’s senior lawyer for compliance with anti-money laundering and terrorist financing regulations. He will report to Scott Mansolillo, vice president and director of compliance at The Hartford.

Ferrell has served with the U.S. Department of Treasury since 2001, most recently as chief counsel for the agency’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. Before joining Treasury, Ferrell was a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice.

ACE USA has appointed Scott Lambert as senior vice president, ACE Global Solutions. He will lead the ACE USA International Advantage product and underwriting team, including overseeing staff management and its overall growth and profitability. The ACE USA International Advantage unit provides international insurance products and services for U.S.-based businesses.

Lambert has 19 years of insurance experience. He most recently was with ACE Professional Risk. He joined ACE USA from AIG, where he spent 10 years.

Susan Mack has joined Main Street America Group as senior vice president, general counsel. She will head the legal department and be a member of its senior management team based at corporate headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla., reporting to Tom Van Berkel, president and CEO.

Mack will be responsible for ensuring that Main Street’s business practices, policies and other dealings meet state and federal regulatory requirements. She will also oversee all aspects of governance to ensure Main Street America is managed in the best interests of its policyholders.

Previously, Mack was senior vice president and general counsel with Transamerica Reinsurance of Charlotte, N.C.

Thomas E. Smith has been promoted at Cincinnati-based Great American Insurance Group to divisional president of the Great American Custom Insurance Services Division. Smith had been senior vice resident of claims for Great American Custom.

Prior to his employment with Great American Custom, Smith spent seven years with American Re-Insurance Company as senior vice president of claims.

Marc Muri has joined Utica National Insurance Group of New Hartford, N.Y., as its representative in Blythewood, S.C., according to Jim Ayres, Utica’s vice president in Richmond, Va. Ayres said Muri has been with CIGNA. He also worked as a field marketing manager for Southern Guaranty (now General Casualty) in South Carolina and North Carolina.
