The Independent Insurance Agents Association of New York Inc. chose officers and installed six new district directors for the new session at the association’s 119th Annual Business Meeting at West Point. The meeting was held in conjunction with the association’s Local Association Leadership Conference.
Also at the meeting, members gave approval to a number of resolutions which support: legislation halting the existing crisis in the liability insurance market which serves New York’s construction industry; continuing rating, cancellation and non-renewal auto insurance laws; along with approving a comprehensive reform platform which addresses fraud in the Empire State’s no-fault auto insurance system; and approving carrier policies which permit added time for policy replacement and stopping precipitous agency cancellations with changing company marketing objectives.
