The Directors of the Commerce Insurance Co. and Citation Insurance Co., the Massachusetts-based subsidiaries of Commerce Group, Inc. have elected Gerald Fels as President, COO and CFO.
Fels, a 26-year veteran with Commerce, will be responsible for managing the overall operations of its two Massachusetts subsidiaries. Commerce Insurance is the State’s largest auto insurer, specializing in personal automobile insurance written through independent agents.
A Certified Public Accountant, Fels also serves as a Director and as the Treasurer of American Nuclear Insurers, a voluntary association of insurers, which provides protection against hazards arising in connection with the operation of nuclear facilities.
