June 18, 2003

Ernesta G. Procope, president and CEO of New York insurance broker E.G. Bowman Company, Inc., has been named to the African American Business Hall of Fame & Museum, which honors trailblazing entrepreneurs, business and professional leaders. She is one of just two women among the 10 inductees this year.

“Procope founded E.G. Bowman 50 years ago as a storefront insurance agency and has overseen its growth to become the nation’s largest minority-owned and woman-owned insurance brokerage, serving many of America’s largest corporations from its Wall Street office,” said the announcement.

The induction ceremony and dinner gala is to be held at the Renaissance Hotel in Cleveland June 21st. It raises funds for a permanent museum preserving the rich history of African American business achievement.
