The Professional Insurance Agents of New Jersey Inc. has issued a bulletin commending the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance’s initiative to educate consumers through its new Auto Insurance Purchasing Planner.
“The DOBI sought input from multiple trade associations, including PIANJ, regarding the implementation of the Purchasing Planner, which PIANJ supported,” said the bulletin.
It described the Purchasing Planner as “an Internet-based program designed to provide insurance buyers with the information they need to determine how much auto insurance coverage they need and how much they want to pay for it. ”
“The Purchasing Planner is a great first step for consumers and will help clear up some of the confusion surrounding auto insurance in the state,” stated PIANJ President John D’Agostino Jr., CIC. “By visiting the Web site, people will be able to explore a number of options before fine tuning their search with their insurance agent.”
While the Purchasing Planner does not provide consumers with actual quotes, it is geared to help consumer make educated decisions about their insurance options. Consumers will learn what types of questions they need to be asking to obtain the best policy for themselves
