A construction worker is dead after falling 20 stories from a building in downtown Pittsburgh.
City homicide detectives and officials with the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating at the scene Tuesday.
The identity of the victim has not been released and the name of the company he works for is not immediately clear.
The building where the accident occurred is being converted into condominiums. Police say they don’t know whether the worker fell off the roof or out of a window because there is not exterior scaffolding on the building.
Police Cmdr. George Trosky tells WPXI-TV that the worker was supposed to be working inside the building on air conditioning duct work “so we’re not sure what happened right now.”
