Officials in Maryland are investigating an incident in which a man died after falling from a tanker truck at the Good Humor-Breyers Ice Cream plant last month.
Maryland Occupational Safety and Health is investigating the May 29 incident. A spokeswoman for the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation said more details would not be released on the incident.
A union representative at the plant, Larry Lorshbaugh, said the accident occurred when the man, who was not an employee of the plant, delivered a truckload of chocolate coating. Lorshbaugh said the truck driver was on top of the truck’s tank, checking the load, when he fell. His head was hit during the fall.
