ProMutual Group has promoted José R. “Joe” Zorola to vice president of underwriting.
Zorola previously served as director of underwriting for the Boston-based medical liability insurer.
In this new capacity, Zorola will continue to oversee the department and will assume responsibility for actuarial and product development functions, as well as execution of strategic initiatives and for achieving the company’s underwriting goals.
Zorola joined the company in 1986 when it was still the Medical Malpractice Joint Underwriting Association of Massachusetts. For a brief period of time, Zorola joined PHICO Group as the underwriting manager for the Dallas, Texas, regional office before returning to ProMutual Group as a senior manager and then as director of underwriting.
He succeeds Gregg L. Hanson, now the company’s chief operating officer.
