Maine-based insurer Acadia Insurance Co. has named Christopher Rourke as its new regional vice president-Connecticut branch manager.
Rourke will help to develop and monitor the overall underwriting, marketing, loss control and claims strategies for the Connecticut office. He will be responsible for the management and development of the agency force including coordination of the relationships with other specialty business units such as Marine and Agribusiness.
He began his career as an Underwriting Trainee at The Hartford Insurance Group, and was ultimately promoted to Regional Vice President for the Boston Regional Office, which included the four state territory of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. He then joined William Gallagher Associates, where he was the chief financial officer. Rourke was most recently employed by Aronson Insurance Agency as a senior vice president, where he was an adviser to management on various strategic and operational matters.
